9.12.14- AHW

summer. tomorrow is summer. I've reached the point where I'm slightly sad. I'm gonna miss being with my friends in the hallways and bays. the lunches where we're sitting at a table and have tons to talk about. the recesses outside in the garden where even though the noon aides are overprotective, I'm gonna miss it. missing sitting in a classroom, even though it's boring at times, but being with people you know and see everyday and are in the same boat and course as them. missing the craziness and creativity that everybody causes when all the different personalities combine. missing my teachers, who I see and talk to everyday and have lived with for the past 9 months. it's like moving away. you live with everyone on the same schedule, the same way, in the same boat for 9 months and then it's done. but then you remember the freedom. freedom to do whatever you want. freedom to not have to wake up early. freedom to not have a tight schedule and stressful assignments. freedom to see who you want, when you want. freedom to not have to take orders from people you don't want to. freedom with no lectures, no rules, no stress or anger. freedom to be you. because that's when you're truly you. when there's nothing you're required to do or follow. when you're you. that's when you should judge and know someone. when they are finally themselves.

obviously pros and cons to leaving school. but for now, let's focus on the pros. there's nothing you can do to stop it, and if you're really gonna miss it, don't be too crestfallen, cause we'll be back in September just like clockwork.

this might be the last time I write on this blog consistently for a while. but I'm glad this is at the top. because it's something we all should remember. if you can't do anything, then focus on the pros before the cons take you down.

9.11.14- AHW

Paper plates are done!! Phew. Except iyana and Lilly haven't done each other, so at least they have to work it out between them. It's all set and done and I've organized it tho, so on Friday everyone gets a plate! Yay

I think tmrw (field trip) is gonna be fun and ik how to skate so that's a good thing. Bowling isn't my strong suit tho but it's really fun because you play and are able to do other things while waiting for someone else to go.

6.10.14- AHW

I'm doing my AHW in math because I just finished my math finals (🙏) with half an hour to spare. Hopefully more people finish cause it's freaky quiet and I don't even know if I'm allowed to be on here but yolo I don't think it matters cause we're all sitting alone anyway at my table.

I'm kinda glad cause it wasn't THAT hard all the units that I hated or were hard only had like two problems and the rest were things we've done before. It's all 16 units so it is hard but it wasn't for me because I knew all the stuff and studied and i was in 5/6 math before so I learned it last year too.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do now cause it's 12:24 and math ends at 12:50 but I'll tweet this and idk math just kill time doing something else. I'm gonna check my volume tho so nothing happens haha 😂 k all good now, 🙈

I'm writing so much because I can't think of anything else to do I could play a game but maybe not idk bye then I guess

6.9.14- AHW

My AHW got deleted from earlier so I'm just gonna write about paper plates.

They're almost done. They'll be done by tomorrow/wed morning. The 6th girls are doing each other, but everyone in the class gets they're own with an award and a note on the back of the plate. The people presenting them are:

We each will present 9 because 52-7(us)=45 and 45/5=9

The presented plates for each people will be random so it's fair and no favoritism is involved.

They'll be presented on the last day, June 13, a Friday. It's a half day.

6.5.14- AHW

I got my class list today and I'm in mixon with Kylee thank god but there's other people I like in my class like some of the 7th boys

6.4.14- AHW

This is my AHW in class and we have like 12 min before we go to the media center and get to leave thIs class for a presentation.

I have band next and we have a concert tonight at 7 I think it'll go well unless everyone gets off beat but I guess that is the percussions job so we got this.

I'm also running 2 miles to stroh's I'm excited for the start and the finish but not the actual running part.

6.2.14- AHW

I'm doing AHW it's 7:37 and it's raining on and off because we live in Michigan.

I'm super tired and alot of drama is happening and I'm not even... no.

I wonder who I'll get for my teacher. Tbh I don't really care about my teacher necessarily but I care about whos in my class because even tho on a regular day we only get our homeroom for a short time, for move up day and the first week next year we'd have to deal with no friends. Which would suck.

5.31.14- AHW

I'm at Fiona's house rn with Lydia Alex and Lilly because we went to the bham fair last night on Friday and we went on a ton of rides. I loved the freak out and the best was at night with lyd when all the lights were on. It kinda broke down and the music stop and the floor wouldn't raise so we were just sitting there (just me and lyd not the other girls) and everyone was screaming that we're gonna die and then it started without the music. We all yelled for music because otherwise it's not the full effect. Then it went SO HIGH. At one point it went soo high and was pushed by the wind higher that I was terrified and screaming but I wanna do it again. Lydia's seat was squeaking tho and when she pulled the harness thing down it squeaked so that was bad timing I guess. But overall we could've died on the freak out.

Carson yelled 'are we the test people?!' And it literally was cause they reset the ride while were just sitting there.

We saw a lot of people there too and we went on that zero gravity ride first. That one is so worth it cause ur pressed again the wall and sliding up and down and turning and byee

I'm doing my AHW now and I'm tired and I've been nonstop texting in our group chats and ky and literally so tired. on my ask there's some anon and I wish they would just Kik me but maybe they will sometime

Nothing new really. It feels like Thursday and tmrw is Friday but it's not which is annoying when it feels like it is. that made no sense. again, tired.

I'm going to the bham fair on Friday with some of my friends who's going? maybe I'll see u there if you're going.

5.27.14- AHW

I have no hw!!! I did my math in class and in science we had a sub and watched a video and in Social Studies we started a book club packet.
I'm uploading our book club discussion on Speak on my iPad rn (I'm on the computer) because I didn't do it in class. I'll link it here when it's up.
K it's uploading. our book is about more of a serious issue. The main character (Melinda) is sexually assaulted in our book, Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is a serious issue, so do take it seriously even if it may have seemed that we hadn't at some points in our discussion. That's just us, and we were all extra energetic this morning. I'd say it's explicit content too, if you can't treat it as a bigger issue than a middle school discussion. It's almost done exporting now. Now it just has to upload..
It's taking a while cause it's a long video. But oh well.

5.23.14- AHW

I finished Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson today. It's my book club book in la but it's isn't very long so I finished it in a night.

Agh what to say. I really can't say anything without a spoiler. Really. It's that kind of book. I don't wanna write anything on here about it till my book club finishes, but then I think I will. I'll warn for spoilers tho.

If ur thinking of reading it, you should. The beginning isn't the most captivating, but it maintains a steady pace. It's really weird, because you literally feel the main character. Whenever something climactic happens, you feel like ur underwater. Like it doesn't affect you? Just completely living in black and white, no matter how vivid the scene is. But then the end. It isn't a heroic, "I accomplished my dreams and everything's perfect!!!!!" Kind of ending, which I think is better. Not so sugar-coated. It ends with her understanding, I think. Being able to look back at her old self and say she gets it now. I'm done for now, but I'll prob write more about this later. If ur thinking of reading it, give it a try.

I'm starting my AHW in science because I have a ton of hw to do later and we're doing planners which just reminds me of how much hw we get/have.

I have soccer too till 7:30 or 8ish which just limits my time.

Plus I have a math test tmrw which I need to study for. And a page and a half of questions to answer about air. Literally air. Not insulting the hw, but it's kind of ironic.

I'm doing my AHW and I'm actually typing in the title box of this but then I'll copy and paste it into the reading part which u see now awesome I have to write run on sentences tho because I can' hit enter. Anyway get well soon I'Yana and Alex because I'Yana is sick and not here and Alex came to track and school so props to her cause she's sick and impressively still ran. 5.19.14- AHW

I'm doing AHW yayy how exciting even though I don't think anything I can write rn could measure up to what fawaz wrote I think yesterday so you should go read that cause it makes you wonder why things like that still exist.

I've been really busy lately because in math we have a lot of work and not so much time left cause you have to cover a lot in 7/8 math to go into algebra (if u are) next year. It's super stressful for everyone (teachers and students) because now we have a lot of work and a test every week. Tests really are kinda repetive. I wish teachers would do something besides just a test because it really doesn't show what you know. Everyone's different and some people are just bad at test taking and that could bring everything down. Their grades, their scores, even their job in the long run because people look at their test grades.

Anyway I gotta go because it's almost 7 bye

5.15.14- AHW

I'm doing AHW in class and I'm reading divergent again for my book club and I finshed my signposts I got a really good memory moment ya

I'm doing 55 hurdles in the city meet and that's bad because everyone there will be fast (as well as Zoey and Lydia) but I'm only doing it because she had to put me there because I'm the only other 6th grade girl who can make it over. Abby did them at a meet but she fell over 3 and now I'm stuck doing them cause I wanted to try them. C'mon 6th grade girls try a little don't throw me under the bus

Oh well I'm gonna practice and hopefully I'll get in enough practice to not hurt myself.

5.14.14- AHW

I have a lot of work ugh but the track meet was cancelled agian. We were supposed to have one on Monday but it rained and a tornado warning, and we were supposed to have one today but because of the downpour we didn't. Now we only have 3 practices left and the city meet where you're only promised one event to run in. I think I'm gonna miss track like its bittersweet. I feel like it's gone so fast but maybe that's because we've missed so much (Michigan weather.) I'm gonna miss the practices I know maybe not getting up at 5:30 but like seeing everyone and getting a chance to run organized and with my friends. :( I know I'm not missing anything from now until the end though and speaking of ends it's been 5 minutes wow k

5.13.14- AHW

I'm doing AHW. Exciting. Weird to think that someone might actually read this at some point when I post it. But okay.

Today we went to the Rouge River. Basically, there's three stations.

Physical- examine the physical things of the river, such as surroundings, animals, water depth/speed/look, Etc.

Chemical- test the river water for signs of bad chemicals that could be killing wildlife.

Benthic*- wear waders and get in the river to collect samples of wildlife, then examine them.

*benthic is everyone's favorite. You get into waders and go into the river, and let's be honest, for a tired, hot 5th/6th grader, we'd rather get in the river than test for chemicals.

The best order of stations is physical, chemical, benthic. Best for last, I guess. Worst is benthic, physical, chemical. You're stuck cleaning up the chemicals, and if you fell in the river or got mud on you, it stays till we leave after the hot physical station.
